New Year

We bid goodbye to 2006 which, according to discussions I have had, was a bit of a mixed bag. Some people had a good year, mine was awesome, some people were indecisive and others proclaimed it to be complete crap. Hopefully 2007 will be better for all concerned.
The 'weasels saw in the New Year at the Five Ashes in exuberant style. It was REALLY cramped in there but we manged to fit in with the audience and everyone had a great time. By the end we had a drunken crowd singing and dancing in front of us.

More observant people in the audience noticed the decoration on my guitar. I was going to post about it a while back but I don't think I got round to it. Here's a close-up.

It took me freakin' ages. I used some greaseproof paper to copy the outline across and then spent several hours drawing it in with a permanant marker. I then had the great idea of using some fixing spray to prevent it from rubbing off. I took the guitar outside on it's stand and sprayed it. I then watched in horror as the ink started to run down the front. I quickly grabbed some tissues and carefully started wiping the drippy bits away. A few minutes later my brain engaged and I figured out that if I put the guitar on it's back, it would stop running. Nice one, Dave. Anyway, it looks great and I'm very pleased with it. I was considering buying a twelve string guitar this year but I don't know if I could do it all over again.
Finally, I have to raise this one last point. I bought a new car over Christmas. I'm not going to bang on about it but let's just say that it is the best car I have ever owned and I would only swap it for an Aston Martin so I'll be driving it for a while. There, it's said, I won't bring it up again.

Chore wars is possibly the greatest and nerdiest concept I have heard of in a very very long time. In effect this is a chore or domestic task management tool that awards you Experience points for each task you complete. Giving your nerd a real chance to see how he is levelling up in those bathroom cleaning skills. Im tempted. I really really am. Debbie, see if you can get Brian addicted to this instead of WoW!
