Ho ho ho! ANYWAY, we've had a reasonable 2005. I've spoken to a few people about it and some people have said it was alright and others have said it was awful. Only one person has so far said it was brilliant. I can't complain, really. It went pretty well for me but 2006 is going to be a corker. I can feel it in my water.
This last year has seen a lot of changes to the website. This time last year there were no blogs, no cartoons and no surveys. The blogs were fast and furious for a while but now have petered out a little. Mostly people use them to announce things or make the occassional rant. That's cool, I really didn't expect them to be used at all, so they have proved themselves worthwhile.
The survey has been fun and people use it fairly often. I need to update it a bit more often but it's good fun.
The real winner for me has been the cartoon strip. Nothing has been used with more gusto than the cartoons. Special note should go to Bad Andy who seems to be able to pull great cartoons out of his arse with alarming regularity. Even some topical ones.
So, what's new for 2006? Well, this year is the year of the competition. We only had a few last year and the only one that really took off was "Guess my desk". This year we have prizes to win which should raiuse everyone's game. I'm open to ideas for what the competitions should be. The current plan is to buy the winner any one item from Amazon up tot he value of £20. That's not a bad prize. I'm still trying to get the money out of Amazon but as soon as I figure it out we'll be under way. Send me your competition suggestions.
For the moment, it's back to work for the overwhelming majority of us. I feel your pain. Getting up this morning was a real trial. I need to get back into the swing of things.

Chore wars is possibly the greatest and nerdiest concept I have heard of in a very very long time. In effect this is a chore or domestic task management tool that awards you Experience points for each task you complete. Giving your nerd a real chance to see how he is levelling up in those bathroom cleaning skills. Im tempted. I really really am. Debbie, see if you can get Brian addicted to this instead of WoW!
